i have been following this girl for ages now and still haven't posted anything of hers. she is a goddess in monochrome (dresses almost completely in black) and is a master of contrast between shape and shapeless. she steals clothes from her mum, baggy trousers and clunky shoes, and somehow manages to make them look new and refreshing. i'm so into color now but she really does look fantastic.

candy floss
i can't stop listening to the girliest music, either shoegazey pop a la cocteau twins and asobi seksu or sugary sweet stuff like la roux and little boots. also keep buying pink clothes- just bought peach high waisted jeans. what's happening to me?

carnival
why am i always so drawn to blurry/hazy photos?
here, i think it's the isolation that got me- the forgotten and lonely beauty.

blush
i don't know what's going on, because i've always been anti-pink, but it's catching my attention recently. i want it bold and bright. everything from rouge to coral, including the commonly disregarded bubblegum seems fresh again. thoughts?
also, it's beyond amazing on walls. i want this girl's house.

summary
i don't really feel like itemizing my views on nyfw, it's way too time consuming. basically, i'm not that into a. wang like the rest of the world and can feel myself gravitating to a softer slouchy look. maybe boyish, yeah, but in lighter colors and fabrications, lots of sheers of course and grounded by denim. gary graham, richard chai, and rag and bone seem to round up my ideal look for spring. anoraks, pants with volume, sheer tops, stripes with florals... it's like comme de garcons fall 09 translated for a broader audience. whatever, so maybe it's watered down, but has a lot of possibility without being too "classic". maybe by the end of the week i'll have changed my views on american fashion but for now i think i like it best in variations on basics rather than anything trendy or avant-guarde.
